Although the overall care was good I felt that the need to describe my symptoms over and over to NHS direct, GP dept, A&E doctor, doctor on ward, nurses and consultant distressing while in a lot of pain. I wasn't checked on during my first nights stay and didn't know I could use the call alarm without it being an emergency. I was moved beds twice, once in the middle of the night, which may seem a minor thing to be distressed about, but was very difficult to deal with when in so much pain (I felt disorientated and out of control). The medical staff and other support staff were very caring. I felt listened to and that I could ask questions.

All the nurses I had dealings with treated me with kindness and sympathy as breast cancer is a very emotive thing for women. All my queries were answered with patience and I was given lots of brochures to help allay any fears I might have as they firmly believe the more you know about something the more you can come to terms with it.

The hospital is looking a bit run down in places. The Rainbow Outpatients department was very clean and tidy. Also very welcoming to young children.

This was my third visit to the hospital, and i have been impressed throughout by the courtesy of medical and non medical staff. Appointment timing is good and people know what each is doing, so that the service feels 'joined up'. I hope not to become a regular patient at the hospital, but feel confident about the service should that ever be the case.

The staff where great that dealt with me from the receptionist to the young lady that took my blood pressure. She was especially memorable for her smile, helpfulness and the laugh we had whilst taking my weight and blood pressure. There should be more like her!

From the moment I initially attended West Suffolk Hospital for diagnosis to having my operation, I can honestly say that the treatment I received from every member of staff/department was first class. There were no exceptions whether they were cleaning staff, nurses, doctors or consultant. They were all brilliant.Everybody was pleasant, usually smiling and nothing was too much trouble. The ward was cleaned daily and consequently everywhere was spotless. I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital,
